Hey, I'm Sarah! I've been a full time ceramic artist for around half a year now, and met my best pal Marret my first year at Ball State University. I grew up in the country in Columbus, Indiana. I've been to almost every corner of the United States, and I'm excited to cross of so many National Parks on my bucket list during this trip.
Community is a large part of why I do what I do, and a major reason for the trip itself. Being able to take such a stationary career and turn that into a traveling ceramic studio and home for a month is a dream come true. We are so incredibly fortune to have the means to do this, and the support from our local community to keep us going.
One of my favorite hiking memories is road tripping to Tennessee, hiking Mt. Cammerer on New Years Eve, and almost getting blown off the mountain with 60 mph wind speed. We found a watch tower at the top and decided to stay the night inside where we found 3 other people that had been hiking the Application trail for a few weeks. We fell asleep at 9 pm to the sound of bursting glass windows from the gusts of wind. We woke up at midnight to welcome in the new year, surrounded in the storm clouds. It was amazing.
